HDTV: So you may have figured out that I invested in HDTV. I got it on the cheap. The one regret (a regret! already! no more than 36 hours after buying the damn thing! and less than 12 hours after getting HD service from the cable company!) I have is that I didn't get a widescreen. But there's always the next time.
But HD rocks. Seriously. Now I just have to go invest in something like an HD (or upconvert or whatever they call it) DVD player. And digital signals are cool too. Signal degradation sucks.
How's about the Olympics? Way cool. Way cool. I remembered how much I enjoy things on ice (that don't rely on judges): Hockey, curling, speed skating. Even the ice dancing is kind of cool - it's very elegant, and the attire isn't a distraction, like in figure skating. The skiing is cool. And the pride shown, by both athletes & fans, is awesome. The intensity from that just ends up drawing me in, y'know? And, as a side note, Cassie Johnson, skip of the women's curling team, is a complete & utter cutie. Even her voice, accent and all, is cute.
Zuletzt: Miracle. Excellent movie. Always gives me chills. Especially after they do become united & a team. And I always tear up hearing Michaels' call during the last several seconds of that game in Lake Placid. What I really want is a tape of the games during the '80 olympics.
